After three days in the saddle, the team arrived in Versailles on 7th September, exhausted but elated by their achievement. Experienced fund-raising cyclists back in the saddle again this year included co-founders of Healix, Dr Peter Mason and Dr Paul Beven; John Pugh and Jane Kennet from Healix IT and Jill Jamieson from the International Medical Emergency team. Unfortunately, Phil Denman from Healix Insurance had to drop out at the last minute due to a training injury but new to the team this year was Angela Smith from Risk Rating on her new 'go faster' bike.
Friends, family and colleagues joining the team in their latest challenge included Richard Mason, Gary Edmondson, Tom Pugh, Chris Vaughan and Dave Coomes. All supported by the highly competent back-up crew of Jane Gidman and Karen Browning from Healix's International Medical Emergency division.
The team were delighted to have raised £4,565 for the British Heart Foundation, exceeding their £3,000 objective by over 50% and thank all those who donated to this worthwhile cause. The British Heart Foundation save lives every day through pioneering research, providing vital information to help people reduce their own heart health risks, campaigning for change and supporting and caring for heart patients.
