Global Travel Risk for Female Travelers: What’s So Different?

HX Global, the US division of Healix International, is delighted to be hosting an educational session on 19th July at this year’s GBTA Convention in Boston. We have brought together an outstanding panel of speakers to lead a riveting, interactive discussion around the unique risks that female travelers face in today’s world and what that means for organizational duty of care.


<h3>Cathy Sharpe - Illinois Tool Works</h3>Cathy Sharpe, Director, Strategic Sourcing, Global Travel & Expense Management Services at Illinois Tool Works

Cathy Sharpe is Director of Global Travel and Expense Management Services for Illinois Tool Works (ITW).

In this capacity, she is responsible for management of customer satisfaction, procurement, vendor relationships, and all service delivery governing ITW’s global travel and meeting programs, corporate card programs, and expense management solutions. She sits on several industry boards, was named Multi National Travel Manager of the Year and one of the Top 25 Most Influential Travel Executives by Business Travel News for 2016. Cathy joined ITW in 2006 and has held a range of management positions within the travel industry over the past 25 years. Prior to her current role, she was Director of Account Management for TQ3 Navigant, and President of Heritage Travel.  

 

Erin Wilk - FacebookErin L. Wilk, Global Travel Safety and Security Manager at Facebook

Erin L. Wilk is the Global Travel Safety and Security Manager for Facebook, where she is developing and implementing an unprecedented travel risk management solution for the company. From 2006 to 2016, Erin was with Bank of America in Charlotte, NC, where she joined as a member of the Global Human Resources Staffing team, supporting HR and Executive Recruiting. In 2009, she moved into Global Corporate Security where she developed, implemented and managed the Global Travel Safety Program for the company and as a Senior Vice President, was responsible for approximately 60,000 business travelers and over 130 country destinations a year. Erin is the Chair of the GBTA Risk Committee, a GBTA Ladders Mentor, a 2016 GBTA Masters Honors recipient and was a member of the GBTA Travel Risk Management Maturity Model (TRM3) Task Force.  She is a graduate of the FBI Charlotte Citizen’s Academy, Leadership Charlotte 37 and serves on the Advisory Board for the Global Congress on Travel Risk Management.  She is a member of ASIS, the Business Travel News (BTN) Travel Risk Management Advisory Board and the current co-chair of the Women in Global Security Group at Facebook. Erin was recently recognized in BTN’s “2017 Women You Should Know.”

Cindy Heston is the Director of Travel and Events for Anthem where she oversees a team of sixteen. Her team manages the travel and event needs of more than 50,000 Anthem associates and is responsible for implementing end-to-end travel and event solutions. Cindy focuses on the strategic management of innovative supplier partners to elevate the corporate travel program to best in class. Meetings.net Magazine selected Cindy as one of the Top 20 Changemakers in 2013. In 2016, Cindy received a dual honor from Business Travel News (BTN); she was named one of the “25 Most Influential” and inducted into the prestigious “Business Travel Hall of Fame.”

 Jane Poulton is the Senior Vice President of Client Management at HX Global. Jane has over 22 years of experience in the assistance industry. She has led development, awareness and education in international healthcare, security, and occupational health for clients. Her expertise stems from many years spent working and living in both developed and emerging markets around the world. Jane has served many of the world’s largest multi-national organizations across many industries and has experience managing traveling populations, expatriates, and national workforces. Her remit throughout her career has been to consult with companies to ensure that corporations meet their obligations of health and safety to all employees around the globe. Jane has been based in the United States for the past 8 years, but has lived and worked all over the world. She has a nursing and hospital management background from her home country of Australia
