IT Systems Administrator

Salary: up to £20,000 depending on experience

Location: Hampton, Middlesex

Healix IT provides software services to the medical and travel assistance sectors.  We have a team of software engineers working alongside our internal and external clients, tailoring our software in order to meet specific requirements.  Our technical architects and medical experts have designed medical risk assessment, case management and claims management software, all of which is widely used within the medical insurance sectors.  In addition to developing software, we assist and advise clients with web and content management solutions.

The Role   Due to our expanding IT workload and Healix Group of Companies growth, we have a new and exciting opportunity for an IT Systems Administrator to join Healix IT.   Working alongside the IT Services Support Team, you will provide day to day office support; setting up of computers, installing software, network system administration plus helpdesk type queries.  In addition, there will be the opportunity to work in liaison with internal/external clients and our software engineers on bespoke requirements, system testing ensuring software quality control methods are followed.

The Hours   We work a 35 hour week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.  However, given the nature of this role some out of hours/weekend work will be required to allow for system upgrades, installations and administration.  A share in the on-call arrangements would also be expected.

Our Requirements   We are looking for an individual with some, or all the following areas of expertise:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Desktop products including Windows and Office
  • An understanding or interest in learning about networks, Active Directory, and firewalls
  • Knowledge of server hardware and peripherals
  • The ability to proactively monitor systems and produce reports
  • Qualifications or knowledge of system administration and help desk roles
  • An interest in systems testing and software quality control
  • Some knowledge of telecoms maintenance and administration

 

The Person   We feel the role would suit an individual educated to 'A' level or above with either a formal IT qualification or proven interest within the IT arena, some relevant work experience would be an advantage.

We are looking for a bright, friendly personable individual with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical clients.

Career Progression   This is a diverse role with career growth, the role may suit someone early in their career with a desire to specialise in a particular area, for example project management, or technical consultant.  In addition, Healix IT will provide training, development and the opportunity to gain recognised IT certifications.
