Healix International is one of the world’s leading providers of international medical, security and travel assistance services. Every year, Healix is relied upon to ensure the welfare of over 2 million people on behalf of multi-national corporations, governments, non-governmental organisations and insurers, with service and communication being key to everything we do. From our Esher office we provide this service 7 days per week between 8am and 10pm, outside of these hours the service is provided by our offices in New Zealand.
Our Medical Case Managers work alongside the operational and assistance teams within Healix International to provide medical advice and support to our international clients. This diverse and exciting role is supported by our team of in-house doctors and is integral to the growth and development of our business.
Management of medical cases worldwide, liaising with local medical staff to ensure treatment received is medically appropriate in relation to the individual’s circumstances.
Provision of medical advice and support to our international corporate assistance, claims and occupational health teams.
Provision of telephone medical advice to clients and arranging medical referral where necessary.
Provide medical advice and guidance to the repatriation team; liaising with medical escorts, transferring and receiving hospitals and patients to ensure evacuations and repatriations are coordinated safely and efficiently
We operate a rota to meet business and client requirements which provides cover during the hours of 07:45 - 22:00, 365 days/year. This may occasionally need to be altered in order to manage the demands of the business. Allocated duty shift lengths are 12 hours and include a 30 minute unpaid break. Medical Case Managers are paid an hourly rate and can expect to work approximately 12 shifts per month.
In-flight Nurse - in addition to the above our Medical Case Managers have the option to fly as Medical Escorts for the Healix Group on an ad hoc basis when not scheduled to be office based. In-flight work does not form part of the contract of employment and is purely optional for those wishing to fly.
We are looking for Registered Nurses with at least 4 years’ acute nursing experience (including 3 years within a critical care area). Demonstrating:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The ability to plan and organise own workload, and work well under pressure
The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
Applicants with previous knowledge and experience in international and remote medical case management are encouraged to apply.
