Healix Occupational Health provides specialist, independent medical opinion services to the Fire & Rescue and Police Authorities. With unrivalled experience in assessing ill-health retirement claims for police and firefighters, we provide opinions that are fair, consistent and supported by clear medical evidence and justification, using Case Law appropriate to the Pensions Regulations. With this approach it is our intention to try and reduce the likelihood of appeal.

Our service is unique in offering opinions from Consultant Occupational Health Physicians experienced in managing the appeal process as part of the Medical Appeal Boards. Their medical expertise combined with a detailed understanding of the relevant pension regulations and case law means we provide an unrivalled national service. 

We will consider the questions raised by your Occupational Health Physician and conduct a full review of the medical records and evidence of each claim, making sure your occupational health team are clear on requirement prior to the IQMP or SMP stage. We will arrange a face-to-face appointment with the individual for SMP assessments, and also where necessary for IQMP assessments.

On completion of our review, we will produce all necessary certificates and robust reports detailing our opinion and we will attend the Medical Appeal Boards Employments Tribunals when required.
