Improved employee engagement with Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT)
Improving employee engagement with healthcare benefits.
The brief
Healix Health Services has been working with Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT) since February 2020 to ensure the company's healthcare benefits are tailored to support the specific needs of its staff.
Our brief is to achieve greater employee engagement with the company's healthcare trust by being a flexible, open, and adaptable trust administrator.
Our approach
As part of our remit, we initially took ownership of DMGT's existing healthcare trust without changing the benefits previously offered. This allowed us to closely monitor the benefits accessed by employees and gave us insights into which services were of most importance to the business and its staff.
By working closely with DMGT and using available company information, we were able to quickly share our recommendations for the company's employee healthcare benefits and have adapted our service accordingly. This includes introducing self-referral pathways for mental health and physiotherapy services, which proved particularly helpful during the pandemic as access to GP services became limited.
More recently, we further analysed the data and collated feedback from members through post-claim surveys to identify trend and shape the benefits offering at renewal.
Results
As a result, we have increased the outpatient limit available to members, while taking into account DMGT's cost containment measures. This change has addressed member feedback about outpatient limit restrictions and the anxiety felt by those approaching the limit, meaning individuals can get the treatment they require more flexibly.
As well as running DMGT's trust, the company has also taken advantage of our additional employee healthcare services, including our Women's Heath and Long COVID propositions, as well as inclusion of specific partners for musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions and the introduction of new cancer benefits. Work is also underway for Healix to host a series of webinars for DMGT's Wellbeing Focus Month in February 2022.
