Transforming workplace cancer care: Introducing our new Precision Cancer Service
Cancer is no longer a rare diagnosis. Today, it accounts for almost 30% of private healthcare claims, compared to just 1% twenty years ago. For employers, that means supporting people through cancer has become one of the biggest challenges in workplace health.
At Healix Health, we believe there’s a better way to do it. That’s why we’ve launched our new Precision Cancer Service, developed in partnership with Further, a global expert in complex healthcare. It’s an important next step in our cancer pathway - one that gives employees access to cutting-edge care while helping employers manage costs more sustainably.
Personalised treatment, powered by precision medicine
Every person’s cancer is different. So why should their treatment be the same?
Our new service brings precision medicine, the latest in genomic testing and expert analysis, into the workplace. It’s designed to make sure people receive the right treatment the first time. This approach can avoid up to 38% of serious misdiagnoses, reduce treatment costs by 35%, and, most importantly, improve survival rates.
It’s all about giving employees and their families the best chance of recovery, with fewer unnecessary treatments, fewer side effects, and more peace of mind along the way.
How it works
The Precision Cancer Service is available for a fixed annual fee per employee (including their dependents). It supports people diagnosed with stage 3 or 4 cancer, rare cancers, cancers of unknown primary, or cancers that haven’t responded to first-line treatment.
When an employee becomes eligible, our Healix clinical team activates the service and coordinates everything. Further then carries out advanced genomic testing, with results reviewed by an international panel of precision medicine experts. They use this insight to create a personalised treatment plan, including access to relevant clinical trials and hereditary testing where needed.
Patients are guided through their results in a one-to-one consultation with a Further clinical case manager, who explains everything clearly and supports any next steps. Alongside this, a dedicated Healix nurse provides ongoing support, ensuring consistent, compassionate care at every stage of the journey.
Why this matters for employers
We know that when an employee is diagnosed with cancer, the impact goes far beyond the individual. It affects colleagues, productivity, and workplace morale. Our Precision Cancer Service helps employers provide meaningful, world-class support — not only improving outcomes for their people but also reducing time away from work and helping manage high-cost claims effectively.
As Ian Talbot, CEO at Healix Health, puts it:
“Cancer touches every organisation. While advances in treatment have improved survival rates, they’ve also introduced new complexities, rising costs and greater expectations.
This new service helps deliver better outcomes for employees, stronger engagement and productivity for businesses, and sustainable cost control for employers — all while providing compassionate, world-class care at every level.”
A new standard for workplace cancer care
This launch marks a big step forward in how cancer care is delivered through Healix Health. By combining innovative testing with the personal touch our clients know us for, we’re helping employers make a genuine difference when it matters most.
It’s another example of how Healix is breaking the mould - proving that healthcare can be both clinically advanced and deeply human.
