Healix is delighted to announce that we will be speaking at ASIS Europe 2024 on 20-22 March in Vienna.
We’ll be joined by two members of our Healix Risk and Security Advisory Board: General Sir Richard Shirreff, Former UK Military and NATO Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe and Sue Williams QPM, Former Head of UK Hostage Crisis Negotiation Unit and Royal Protection Senior Management Team.
Alongside our Security Director, David Geddes, who runs the Healix Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC), and Eilidh Thomson, our Regional Security Manager for EMEA, our highly experienced advisors will discuss the crucial themes of leadership and the challenges of maintaining strategic control during trying times.
Here’s a sneak peek of the sessions we have in store:
Leadership During a Crisis: Navigating the Web of Decision-Making
Leadership Track, Thursday 21 March (16.40 – 17.25 CET)
What are the key skills that make good crisis leaders and how does that translate at an operational level? In this session, General Sir Richard Shirreff, Sue Williams QPM and David Geddes will draw from their own experiences of leadership during a variety of different crisis situations. We will also flip the perspective to Healix Regional Security Manager Eilidh Thomson, who will highlight the impact that crisis leadership has on operational efficiency.
Attendees will gain valuable insights into the essential skills required to effectively navigate crises as a leader, and the symbiotic relationship between thinking, assessing, deciding, and executing in crisis response.
Developing Security Leaders of the Future
Innovation Track, Friday 22 March (9.25 – 9.40 CET)
During this session, our Security Director, David Geddes will delve into the critical topic of cultivating and retaining security talent within an organisation. We will explore the crucial elements of hiring the right individuals, investing in their development, and fostering a culture that encourages and retains the traditional security team ethos. Our discussion will cover the key characteristics and skills to seek in security professionals, including technical expertise and critical thinking. We will also examine how the security industry is evolving and drawing from diverse backgrounds, such as law enforcement, military, legal, and academic, to join its ranks.
