Accessing healthcare abroad

Most care can stay safely in-country. We know the posts - they’re established. We usually screen people before they go - so we know their health risks. And we’ve built local medical networks that match the needs of each place and each person. That’s how we keep things running smoothly, without unnecessary disruption.

Medical repatriation and air ambulance

Medical evacuations are serious decisions that are never taken lightly. Sometimes health demands them, and sometimes your policy drives them. 

When getting them out is the safest option, we manage the whole process - visas, medical professionals, ground transport, hospital admission - making the best use of resources, providing bedside to bedside care. 

One programme, many agencies

We run one of the largest overseas healthcare programmes of its kind - One HMG Healthline - supporting 30,000 UK Government staff and dependants across more than 30 agencies, through a single point of contact.

It’s built around NHS equivalency - the UK’s public healthcare system - so wherever someone’s posted they get care that's in-line with home expectations.

The programme has evolved with the people it serves, through contract iterations. We’ve introduced telemedicine, occupational health and innovation with the One HMG Hub - a central platform for guidance and support. It’s not just about access to care - it’s about consistency, coordination and confidence.
