Supporting a safe evacuation from Qatar during regional escalation

Background

In late February-early March 2026, tensions across the Middle East escalated, raising security concerns in Qatar and leading to airspace closures. Several clients sought advice on contingency plans, including potential extraction. One early request involved evacuating 11 people from Doha – two families and three solo travellers – with no access to commercial flights. Healix planned a secure ground evacuation into Saudi Arabia to enable safe onward travel.

Challenge

Rapidly changing regional conditions made evacuation planning complex and time critical.

On 4 March, the group requested relocation due to worsening security and growing limits on movement. While most projectiles entering Qatar were intercepted, the outlook remained uncertain. The team had to identify a safe cross-border route, manage mixed family needs, secure vehicles, accommodation and flights, and maintain constant communication despite the risk of sudden restrictions.

Approach

Coordinated ground movement enabled safe cross-border relocation.

Healix activated its IMT and the Saudi Arabia "GOLD TEAM" to deliver a ground evacuation via the Abu Samra border. Planning began immediately and covered border checks, a controlled muster point in Doha, and three low-profile vehicles travelling in a loose convoy. The team secured accommodation in Riyadh and confirmed onward flights. On 5 March, the seven-hour move ran as planned, with live updates shared throughout.

Outcome

All evacuees reached safety with seamless onward travel.

The group arrived in Riyadh without incident and departed for Thailand on 8 March. Healix delivered full end-to-end support, from route planning to flight ticketing. The operation showed the value of fast mobilisation, trusted local teams and clear risk-led decisions during a fluid security situation.
