Healix appointed by BHSI Australia as emergency assistance provider for Accident & Health portfolio

21.10.2026

Healix has been appointed by Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) Australia as the emergency assistance provider for its Accident & Health portfolio, effective October 2026.

The appointment extends Healix’s support for BHSI’s Accident & Health business into Australia, building on the organisations’ relationship in the UK and bringing a consistent approach to emergency assistance across key markets.

Healix was selected through a competitive process that considered international expertise, local presence and the ability to work collaboratively with BHSI’s team. Healix’s established regional footprint, experience supporting BHSI in the UK and commitment to collaboration were key factors in the decision.

Local support backed by global capability

When travellers need medical care, experience a security incident or face unexpected disruption away from home, timely and coordinated assistance matters.

Through Healix, BHSI policyholders will have access to:

  • 24/7 access to emergency medical, security and travel assistance
  • Case management led by experienced medical, security and operational specialists
  • Coordination of treatment, travel and logistics from initial notification through to resolution where appropriate
  • Access to a global network of trusted medical, security and logistics providers
  • Travel information and alerts to help travellers stay informed before and during their journeys

Healix has more than 30 years of experience supporting travellers and organisations worldwide and manages thousands of medical, security and travel-related cases each year. In 2026, Healix was named International Health, Wellbeing or Security Management Provider of the Year at the FEM APAC EMMAs, recognising its track record in delivering coordinated assistance and positive outcomes across a wide range of incidents worldwide.

Daniel Kenny, Global Personal Accident & Corporate Travel Underwriting Officer and Regional Head of Accident & Health, Australasia said:

“As our Accident & Health portfolio continues to strengthen across Australia, we wanted a provider with people on the ground who understand the markets we serve and can work closely with our team. Healix bring the local engagement and proven operational expertise we were looking for, aligning naturally with the way we work. That gives us confidence our policyholders will be in good hands when they need us most.”

James Henderson, Chief Executive Officer at Healix International said:

“This appointment reflects the trust that develops when organisations work closely together and share the same expectations around service. We’ve enjoyed supporting BHSI in the UK and are delighted to extend that relationship into Australia. By bringing together our regional teams and global operational capability, we look forward to supporting BHSI’s continued growth and helping deliver positive outcomes for policyholders wherever they are.”
