Healix secures UK Ministry of Defence contract to deliver global medical support

02.06.2026

Healix International has been awarded a contract by the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) to deliver a global medical assistance service in support of UK Armed Forces personnel and civilian staff worldwide.

This contract enables the continuation and enhancement of an established medical support capability, providing reliable, 24-hour alternative reach back support to personnel deployed on operations, exercises and training.

Healix will provide 24/7 clinical advice and case management support, including coordination with host nation healthcare systems. Services also include assistance with medical evacuations, supported by medical intelligence, as well as reporting and analysis to inform operational planning. These services are designed to complement and support the care delivered by Defence Medical Services personnel, who remain responsible for providing deployed medical care to UK forces on operations.

Healix’s role focuses on coordinating medical logistics, ensuring that personnel who require healthcare outside of deployed military medical facilities can access timely, and appropriate support. This includes non-military medical flights back to the UK when needed, reinforcing the overall resilience of the Defence medical system.

James Henderson, CEO, Healix International, said:

"We are proud to continue supporting the UK Ministry of Defence through the delivery of global medical assistance services. Our role is to provide responsive, coordinated support that enhances the care available to Defence personnel wherever they are deployed, working in close partnership with Defence Medical."

Brigadier Chris Wright, Head of Medical Operations and Capability at MOD said:

"Healix International has been selected following a competitive procurement process to provide a global medical assistance capability that supports our deployed forces. This contract strengthens our existing service and ensures that our personnel continue to receive coordinated, high-quality care when operating outside the UK, requiring specialist healthcare services. The provision works alongside and supports Defence Medical Services, who remain central to the delivery of medical care on operations."

This contract reflects Healix’s continued growth within government services while reinforcing the MOD’s commitment to maintaining a robust, integrated medical support system for its people worldwide.
