Airmic, formed in 1963, is now the UK’s largest risk management association, and their annual Airmic conference has become a firm fixture in the diary for those working in risk and insurance. The 2024 event will be held in Edinburgh on 3 – 5 June.

Joining the panel will be two strategic advisors to Healix:
General Sir Richard Shirreff, KCB, CBE is the strategic advisor on security for Healix and part of the recently-formed Healix Risk and Security Advisory Board. As a former member of the UK Military and former NATO Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe he has a wealth of experience to share.
James Stokley is a strategic consultant for Healix, with over 25 years of service in the UK Metropolitan Police. A substantial portion of his career was dedicated to Counter Terrorism at New Scotland Yard, commanding investigative teams in the UK and hostile environments overseas.

Anticipating disorder – ensuring business operations are prepared for fast-evolving security conditions

This session is focused on preparing for the next crisis and building organisational resilience. We begin with an analyst briefing, providing insights into the current drivers of insecurity and highlighting the ones that demand our utmost concern. This is followed by a panel discussion in which two of the Healix Risk and Security Advisory Board will discuss the core attributes of effective crisis leadership and the things that leaders should be thinking about. Additionally, through the perspective of an operations manager, we will delve into the impact of crisis leadership on fortifying organisational resilience.
Objective: Attendees will gain invaluable insights into the essential skills required for proactive crisis navigation and the symbiotic relationship between thinking, assessing, deciding, and executing in crisis response.
